I believe that the symbolism here concerns 3 stages of human evolution before and after deluvian episodes.  It clearly concerns water. The top symbol is the letter "mem".  It's luterose cutwork feels like a synthesis of the two below.

The 2 feminine figures holding globes of downward pointing triangles are taken from an alchemical woodcut.  Translucent water paper backs the 3 luteroses.  The image here has been illuminated from the rear by ambient sunlight.
